“All the aspects of the mind must be harmonized in order to achieve true inner peace.”
Zuzana Mezencevová (b. 1969) is a Slovak diplomat currently serving at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in New Delhi. Originally from Košice, Slovakia, she returned to her passion for painting in 2007 while working as a contributing editor for one of Slovakia’s oldest national weekly magazines. Mezencevová has a particular affinity for watercolours, appreciating their spontaneity and vibrant colour potential. Recently, she has expanded her artistic repertoire to include digital painting, particularly in the context of urban sketching.
Her work has been showcased in exhibitions across Slovakia, Austria, Italy, and India, reflecting a diverse cultural influence. As a member of the visual artists' association arte.via, based in Stupava, Slovakia, and a regular participant in Urban Sketchers Delhi since 2017, she engages with fellow artists and the broader community, sharing her unique perspective on urban life through art.
Mezencevová's artistic journey, intertwined with her diplomatic career, highlights her commitment to exploring and expressing the beauty of everyday moments, whether through traditional media or modern digital tools. Her ability to capture the essence of urban environments continues to resonate with audiences, making her a significant contributor to the contemporary art scene.
All the works draw inspiration from nature and the creative process itself. Water and movement are essential, guiding the pigments as they flow across the canvas. For Zuzana, the act of painting is a healing journey. She often listen to light music, which makes the flow of her work meditative.
