Indu Tripathy is an acclaimed artist known for her gentle, silken forms and soft colour palettes. Her work, often centered on the themes of womanhood and nature, reflects a deep connection between the two, presenting them as manifestations of prakriti. Indu's modernism is rooted in her cultural heritage and her holistic understanding of existence. Her portrayals of women exude a dreamy quality, capturing both their inherent strength and the complex narratives of gender.

Indu holds an M.A. in Fine Art from Agra College and has garnered several prestigious awards, including a Senior Fellowship from the Department of Culture, Government of India. Her artworks are part of significant collections both in India and internationally. She resides and works in New Delhi.

Her professional journey includes teaching Drawing and Painting at the Home Science Institute in Agra, serving as an illustrator for Delhi Press, and working with The Way Advertising. She has contributed to notable projects, including designing tableaux for the Indian Air Force and stalls for Orissa Tourism. Additionally, Indu has played key roles in organizing art workshops and has been involved in various jury panels, further enriching her commitment to the arts.

Since 2000, Indu Tripathi has been conducting art classes in Sainik Farms and Defence Colony, sharing her passion and expertise with aspiring artists. Her multifaceted career showcases her dedication to both creating and nurturing art in the community.
