Amit Kalla, born on February 7, 1980, in Jaipur, is an acclaimed poet and painter. He holds a Master’s in Art and Aesthetics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Master’s in Drawing and Painting from Rajasthan University. He is pursuing a Ph.D. on “Spiritual Symbolism and Semiotics in Indian Abstract Paintings.” His work, shaped by travels across 15 countries, blends spiritual depth with abstract art. Kalla has published four poetry collections, including the Jnanpith Young Poet Award-winning Hone Na Hone Se Pare. His accolades include the prestigious Mark Rothko Residency Award (2022), and participation in major art exhibitions and international poetry festivals. With 14 solo exhibitions and over 150 group shows, Kalla’s art explores themes of universality and cultural introspection. He is also active in social change through art initiatives like the Ramta Drig Collective, Jaipur Art Summit & pink Fest.
