Tarun Sharma is a multifaceted artist, blending the worlds of painting, poetry, and design thinking to foster a mind-liberating approach to creativity. Born in July 1985 in Jaipur and raised in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Tarun's upbringing in a nature-rich environment deeply influenced his artistic vision. He studied Architecture at VNIT Nagpur and further pursued Transportation and Automobile Design at NID, Ahmedabad.
His artistic journey evolved from doodling and working with various materials to focusing on canvas in 2012, where abstraction became central to his work. Tarun's art draws inspiration from Indian knowledge systems, exploring themes of consciousness, energy, and the essence of being.
He held his first solo exhibition at Cercles in New Delhi in December 2015, followed by another at Devang, Tolstoy House. Tarun has participated in several group exhibitions, including “Explorations” at AIFACS and “Noir” at The Stainless Gallery, both in New Delhi, as well as “Chaap” at Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur. His work reflects a unique synthesis of his diverse experiences, aiming to engage viewers in a dialogue about the deeper aspects of existence.
In Tarun's series Naad, we find symbols of creation, the energy, the conscious, the energy. To be meditated upon, stroke by stroke, holding the attention in process of creation these works are a signifier of the source denoted by the symbol.
